So I have a question for everyone today. Would you be interested in having a time where library staff would be available to help you with our new OverDrive website. You would be able to bring in you own equipment (mp3 players, eReader, etc....) and learn how to set it up and use it. What's OverDrive you ask? Only a very easy way for you to browse our online collection of eBooks and Audio Books, to download them at home or here at the library and enjoy them wherever you go.
We will show you "hands on" how to set it up and use it and you will be all set up to download audiobooks onto your mp3 player or how to read eBooks on you laptop or eReader. You will walk away knowing all you need to know to use this great service.

I think this is a fine idea! But then, I will probably be in on the "staff" side of things.
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me especially as I had trouble accessing an ebook on my laptop after having downloaded it to my desktop machine. I followed all the directs and troubleshooting help on Overdrive and never could get it to read the file. I don't have an ereader yet but am interested but need to feel I can move between devices as it says to make it more accessible. I don't consider myself a novice in the tech world either so some pointers may be needed.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute! Are you telling me that I can download free ebooks to my itunes???
ReplyDeleteWell........ itunes is another matter. Apple is a lot like Kindle. They don't play well with others. Are you using an iphone? There is an Overdrive App that works well. - Brad
ReplyDeletehahaha No I don't have iphone, just an ipod.
